Fine Arts Fundraisers!
Why have fundraisers? Extra-curricular activities are expensive!
Did you know that string instruments come in different sizes? It is cost prohibited to buy instruments in different sizes as we grow, so instead we rent instruments. When we reach adult sizes, we can then buy a full size instrument to play. Fundraising will help us reach our goal to keep us in instruments until we may select our own to keep.
Did you know sheet music is very expensive? My orchestra has to buy cello, viola, violin 1, violin 2, and piano music! Not only that, but each song is usually only two to seven minutes long, meaning we have to buy a lot of different songs to play a concert. This is one reason why we are fundraising!
Orchestral fees are ongoing. Orchestras needs to pay for the teachers to make a living.
Another expense for our fine arts education is private lessons. Weekly we meet with a teacher to learn to vibrato better, read music, and experience different styles of music while training our ears and hands to play better.
I am fourteen and have a love for many different genres of music. After spending much of the last year in the hospital, I have remission from my rare bone disease, CRMO, and can enjoy playing music again.
